On February 5, a breach occurred at a water treatment facility in Florida, where attackers briefly increased the amount of sodium hydroxide in drinking water using a system that allows for remote access. Though the intrusion was quickly detected and reversed, new details have emerged showing there was a lack of adequate security measures in place to protect the facility’s critical infrastructure.
