In a global study of over 3,000 business decision makers, Microsoft found that manufacturing companies in the Asia-Pacific region continue to be a strong adopter of IoT. In particular, Australian organizations report the highest rate of IoT adoption, at 96%. China comes in first for number of organizations adopting IoT for innovative use cases.
CISA publishes list of free security tools for business protection

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) has announced a list of cybersecurity resources that those overseeing critical infrastructure can use as a starting point to better secure their systems. This follows last year’s serious cyberattacks in the US against SolarWinds, Microsoft Exchange and Colonial Pipeline, among others.
Hackers backdoor unpatched Microsoft SQL database servers with Cobalt Strike

It was revealed that vulnerable internet-facing MS SQL Servers are being targeted by threat actors as part of a new campaign to deploy the Cobalt Strike adversary simulation tool on compromised hosts. Cobalt Strike is a commercial, full-featured penetration testing framework that allows an attacker to deploy an agent named “Beacon” on the victim machine, granting the operator remote access to the system.
