WatServ and its affiliates, and their successors and assignees (collectively referred to as “WatServ” and / or “We”), are committed to protecting your privacy. This Website Privacy Policy (“WPP”) applies to the collection, use and disclosure by WatServ of information about identifiable individuals (“Personal Information”) collected through WatServ websites, including WatServ.com, and not in connection with WatServ services. For the purpose of services provided by WatServ to our clients, the policy in reference should be WatServ’s Service Data Privacy Policy (“SDPP”). For the purpose of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), we’ve a notice to be taken in consideration, besides all the information mentioned on this policy. The notice is public and is shared here.
Collection of your Personal Information
WatServ will only collect your e-mail address, name, country of residence, and the details of your inquiry or communications with WatServ if you provide your explicit consent to its collection and its subsequent use and disclosure as described in this WPP.
WatServ will only collect information about your visit to any WatServ website, as described in the Use of Cookies & Tracking Technologies section below, if you provide your implicit consent to its collection and its subsequent use and disclosure as described in this WPP in Canada or your explicit consent in all other jurisdictions.
Certain WatServ services may be co-branded and offered in conjunction with our partners. If you register for, or use such services, both WatServ and our partners may receive information collected in conjunction with the co-branded services.
Use of your Personal Information
If you permit the usage of your Personal Information by WatServ, it will be used for the sole purposes described in this WPP or the purposes we otherwise ask you permission for. WatServ may use your Personal Information to respond to your inquiries and communicate with you, for the purposes described in the Use of Cookies & Tracking Technologies section below, to inform you of other products or services available through our WatServ technology, and to send you surveys regarding current services or new services that we are considering offering.
Use of Cookies & Tracking Technologies
WatServ uses cookies and other similar tracking technologies to gather information about your visit to any WatServ website and distinguish you from other visitors, to personalize your online experience, to display customized content and advertising, and to measure the effectiveness or performance of our websites and advertising.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by a website in order to remember information about your browsing history or your device when you return to that website. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize WatServ pages, register with WatServ, or subscribe to services, a cookie helps to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your Personal Information, such as billing address, preferred e-mail address, and so on. When you return to WatServ, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the WatServ features that you customized. Some cookies are “session cookies” that are deleted at the end of your browsing session while some are “persistent cookies” that remain between sessions until they expire or you delete them. Similar tracking technologies are pixels, web beacons or other technologies that store or access information on your device.
WatServ may collect the following information about your visit to any WatServ website: your Internet Protocol (IP) address and the general geographic location associated with your IP address (known as IP geolocation), your network provider, information about your computer or mobile device such as your device model or browser type, the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from WatServ websites, the date, time and duration of your visit, whether you are a first time or returning visitor, content you viewed and searched you’re your mouse scrolls, clicks, keystrokes entered, recorded images such as forms you populated, and your interests and demographics.
WatServ uses third party analytics, including those offered by Google Analytics, Google Optimize, and Crazy Egg, Inc. (“Crazy Egg”), to create reports and statistics on visits to our websites. For information on how Google Analytics collects and processes your data, please see “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites and apps”. For information on how Crazy Egg collects and processes your data through our use of the Crazy Egg JavaScript, please see Crazy Egg’s Privacy Policy, which together with Crazy Egg’s Cookie Policy and Terms of Use, are incorporated into this WPP by reference. Crazy Egg and its affiliates are third party beneficiaries of this WPP.
You may disable cookies in your browser settings and clear your cache of previously installed cookies. However, if you disable cookies, WatServ websites may not function properly and your personalized online experience may be hindered. In addition to disabling cookies, you may also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your website visits. You may also prevent tracking by Crazy Egg by using its opt-out feature.
WatServ also uses third party advertising services, including Google Ads Remarketing and the Facebook Pixel, to deliver customized content and advertising to you and to measure the effectiveness or performance of our advertising campaigns. Google uses cookies and/or device identifiers to serve you advertisements on sites across the Internet based upon your past visits to WatServ websites. Facebook uses cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to serve you advertisements on and off Facebook’s platform based upon your past visits to WatServ websites and elsewhere on the Internet.
You may opt out of Google’s use of cookies or device identifiers by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.  You may opt out of Facebook’s collection and use of your information for the purposes of delivering customized advertising in your Ad Preferences or Ad Settings in your Facebook account. You may also opt out of seeing online interest-based advertising from participating companies (including Google and Facebook) through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.
Please note that if you opt out of certain kinds of advertising, you will continue to receive non-customized advertisements and you may continue to receive customized advertisements from parties that do not participate in the opt out programs.
Retention period of your Personal Data
We’ll not retain your personal data longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this WPP, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). How long we retain your personal data depends on the type of data and the purpose for which we process your data. If we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Disclosure/Transfer of Your Personal Information
WatServ does not sell, rent or lease its user lists to third parties. Although if permitted, WatServ may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of a third party about a particular offering or materials that we believe may be of interest to you. In those cases, your Personal Information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. We occasionally hire other companies (“Service Providers”) to provide limited services on our behalf, such as handling the processing and delivery of mailings, providing customer support, processing transactions, or performing statistical analyses of our services (collectively, the “Services”).
We will only permit Service Providers access to Personal Information to the extent that it is required to deliver the Services and will require them, through contractual means, to maintain the confidentiality of your information, respect your privacy and we estipulate a retention period for the usage of the data shared. Specifically, we will require Service Providers to establish and maintain appropriate safeguards for Personal Information and prohibit them from using Personal Information we transfer to them, except for the purpose of providing the Services, and from disclosing such Personal Information.
WatServ may access and/or disclose your Personal Information if required or permitted to do so by law. WatServ may also access and/or disclose your Personal Information under the following circumstances:
- to comply with a legal requirement including but not limited to one imposed by a warrant, subpoena, court order or like instrument served on WatServ;
- where WatServ has reasonable grounds to believe that such access or disclosure is necessary to prevent or investigate any breach of an agreement or contravention of a law; or
- in urgent circumstances to protect the life, health or security of any person. WatServ may also disclose your Personal Information to its successor or any assignee of WatServ.
WatServ does not use or disclose sensitive Personal Information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent. Any use or disclosure of your Personal Information within WatServ will remain subject to the limitations of this WPP.
WatServ will give you notice and obtain your consent before using or disclosing your Personal Information for any purpose that is not described in this Policy.
Control of your Personal Information
WatServ offers at any moment the possibility to its members to limit the collection, use and sharing of their Personal Information. For example, you may choose not to receive marketing materials from WatServ, on its own behalf or that of third parties, and may stop the delivery of future promotional e-mail and Newsletters. When providing Personal Information to WatServ or responding to a communication from WatServ, look for a button, box, a question asking whether or not you want to provide or share your Personal Information, or an unsubscribe option.
Security of your Personal Information
WatServ is committed to protecting the security of your Personal Information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the Personal Information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as credit card numbers) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption technologies, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
Changes to this Policy
WatServ encourages you to periodically review this Policy. WatServ will occasionally update or change this WPP. When WatServ makes changes to this Policy, you will see the word “updated” next to the WPP link on the introductory page of WatServ for a period of at least thirty (30) days from the change. The date that this Policy was last updated will appear at the top of the Policy. WatServ recommends that you subscribe to this page to receive notifications.
Enforcement of this Privacy Policy
WatServ welcomes your comments regarding this Privacy Policy. If you believe that WatServ has not adhered to this Policy, would like to access or request an amendment to your Personal Information being held by WatServ, please contact our Privacy Officer by telephone, e-mail, or postal mail using the contact information provided.
